2022 Les Trios Pistes avec FBC
FBC are planning on an epic 4-day trip on the 6th - 9th May 2022 to replace the spring training camp.
The aim of this alternative event is to re-create the challenging “3 Pistes” Sportive. so that club members train/help/encourage each other to take part in a club challenge and have an enjoyable weekend away. Similar to the previous summer “Highland Tours” - with the option to start and finish at the Larbert Station car park.
At the 2021 AGM, we discussed an option for a foreign spring training camp. Since then, there have been several travel restrictions put in place due to the pandemic and it has become too risky to plan for any foreign trips at the moment.
The format has two options available depending on time off:
Option A – Four Days - Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon
Option B – Two Days - Sat & Sun
The aim is to get as many club members doing the longer 112 mile route on the Saturday. If you can only make Saturday and Sunday, or even just Saturday, then this event format works for you.
It’s a bit of a challenge:
6,000 metres of climbing
5 official climbs
4 days of riding
3 ski centres (mandatory FBC group photos at each ski station!)
2 nights in Pitlochry
1 big night out in Aviemore!
Option A – Estimated Costs £210 plus food - assuming 10 people.
Fri Pitlochry £55
Sat Aviemore £65
Sun Pitlochry £70
Share of van/fuel £20
Option B – Estimated Costs £75 plus food - assuming 10 people
Sat Aviemore £65
Share of van/fuel £10
Club members who cannot get off work on Friday and Monday could share cars/trains from Larbert Station directly to Pitlochry on Saturday/Sunday. The trains times have been planned into the schedule for the weekend:
Out: 07:23 arrives 08:45 - Meet at 9AM at the Station, ride out at 9:15am.
Back: 20:35 gets back to Larbert at 22:01. Option to leave the car at Larbert.
